darksilverstudio.com/PRINTS.ht…Some time ago, on a late summer evening, in America, a girl was born with a vast imagination. She was given the name Natali, after the actress, Natalie Wood. But to give her name a slight uniqueness other than the meaning of “Christmas child,” the “e” in Natalie, was dropped.
As a little girl she loved to draw, mainly of the horse farm down the road, and exotic cars from magazines. She also had a hyperactive imagination, so at recess she would bring characters to life, acting out each personality and everyone that was around was consumed into her universe. Even though she could have passed kindergarten, Natali’s, infinite imagination held her back a grade. It didn’t bother her as she got to continue to have fun for another year. Throughout her education, her art was recognized quickly as a talent, but English teachers looked at her differently like an ADD child. She was restless or disinterested, unless they assigned a creative writing assignment. When Natali’s imagination transcribed words onto paper her teachers extolled her for a great imagination and originality, but that was all.
A little after dropping out of college she was discovered and began to draw for comic companies as a cover artist. During this time, she was influenced from drawing others characters, which then, pushed her to write. After a couple years she solely began to take on commissions, with one or two published covers as she prepares to publish her first novel. Inspired from her stories with gods, immortals, beasts, demons, dark creatures on heavens and planets, she’s beginning to create paintings to share with all.
Natali’s work continues to be received by collectors of comics and fantasy all over the world. Her art has been published in books and magazines, and is available on licensed products. Natali’s paintings are created with oil paint, Prismacolor pencils, acrylic paint, airbrush, and watercolor, sometimes mixed mediums. She is always childishly discovering new mediums to experiment with. “If it doesn’t get all over, you’re not having fun.”
She still resides in the US, being self-employed from painting her imagination of fantasy and fan commissions. In her spare time she is playing with her toddler, visiting her family, watching movies or listening to audio books for inspiration, and of course, writing.
“I love that feeling I get when I write or draw, it’s like I’m back at recess or with my sister playing in our room till the sun comes up. On the weekend of course, haha. But I know if I have these feelings, there are others bound to be just as similar, and I want them to float back to those memories from their childhood. As an artist, I paint because of a passionate force to create beauty and wonder, writing is just the same. They both can’t be fulfilled without the other. Then again, they cannot exist if they are not shared by permitting the magic to be felt or seen. So thank you, for following or looking at my artwork, allowing its magic to become real, for making the image I have captured in paint come to life in your eyes and mind. I hope that my artwork can be an inspiration to you.”
Thank you for being a lover of fantasy, beauty and magic,”
Natali “no e” Sanders
